Empowering teens to learn through play
We believe that nature heals, fun builds trust and exploration is necessary. At our grounding program, we encourage each of our teens to take responsibility and ownership of the garden. When they attend our program, teens learn how to prepare their own food from seed to table. Not only does this open many teens to new food and experiences, but it also empowers them to learn through failure without the fear of social consequence.
Our small, passionate team of educators and mentors believes every young mind deserves the chance to explore and grow. Each teen who attends our program is given a yearly budget of $100 to bring to live a “passion project” of theirs. We learned very quickly how smart, enthusiastic and creative our teens are when they got to work. We ended up with a mini corn maze, an all-purple garden, a feral cat sanctuary, a mural, and so much more!
